8 GRAPHIC DESIGN TIPS FOR BEGINNERS

Hello World,

Glad that you have just started to read my Blog. Seems we are connected now! The era is all about on-the-go...Do you agree? Yes, must be your reply. We are all living in the age of Digital, we all love good graphics, freaky fun and innovative ideas.

How aware are you of the Graphic Design domain? Well, must be just the funky graphics you see in the magazines and movies. But there is a lot to it. Not just fun, but Graphic Design is a demand-of-the-age. Let me introduce you to the very useful 8 Graphic Design tips for beginners.

A graphic designer tells stories through visuals. In order to tell the stories effectively, a designer must follow certain tips, which will help them become better designers. Here are some of them.

OBSERVE:

Graphic design is everywhere, from the train ticket in your hand to the Instagram feed in your phone. Before starting to design anything, it is important you observe and study the graphics that surround you. Observation is key in any art form, good observation skills will eventually lead to fruitful results.

PEN ON PAPER:

Every design starts with pen on paper, i.e. rough sketches and noting down important points. A designer should have a clear idea about how their design is going to look like. Sketching is essential for a good design as it gives a rough idea what the design is going to look like.

PUT A THOUGHT:

One of the most important tasks of a designer is to understand the purpose they are designing for. Once a designer gets a brief, they should spend as much time with the brief as possible. A designer should aim to produce a unique idea, and avoid regular run-of-the-mill ideas.

DEVELOP A STYLE:

Every designer should aim to develop a signature style of their own. Just like a painter has his/her signature style a designer too should have one. Having a style gives a designer an edge over his/her contemporaries.

EXPERIMENT:

Break rules In order to get groundbreaking results rules have to be broken, it is true for any art form. Experimentation is key, a designer needs to experiment with the designs and aim to produce something different.

KEEPING IT SIMPLE:

Every designer aims to make their work as simple as possible. Conveying a message as simply as possible is a mark of a great designer. Using least amount of elements in a design is easy on the eyes, understandable, and conveys the message to the viewer in the least amount of time.

PASSION PROJECTS:

Every designer should have a portfolio of personal work apart from client work. Passion projects may include a poster series or an illustration series. Passion projects showcase the character of the designer and a particular area of interest. Passion projects are often a getaway from the day-to-day client work.

TAKE A BREAK:

It is important to switch-off from the daily routine life once in a while. A designer needs to stay creative, and in order to keep the creative juices flowing, a designer needs to take break from work. They can use this time doing anything, reading a book, going on a long drive or a vacation.
